Speaker : Jane Hedger | QLD International Women’s Day Leaders Breakfast

We’re proud to welcome Jane Hedger, Chief Executive Officer of Volunteering Queensland and Chair of Challenge DV to one of Queensland’s most inspiring and important leadership conversations.

This breakfast welcomes both men and women. Because the conversation about women’s leadership belongs to everyone.

There are two kinds of work that hold communities together. The work that gets paid. And the work that gets done anyway.

And at the heart of that ecosystem is Jane Hedger.

As CEO of Volunteering Queensland, Jane leads the peak body representing and supporting the volunteer community across the state advocating for the conditions, the recognition, and the infrastructure that allow volunteering to thrive as one of Queensland’s most vital and most undervalued social assets.

But Jane’s leadership does not stop at volunteering.

Domestic and family violence does not exist at the margins of Queensland life. It exists in homes, in families, and in communities across every postcode in this state.

Two roles. Two organisations. One unwavering commitment.

To the communities that depend on care. To the women and families who deserve safety. And to the kind of leadership that shows up not for the recognition but because the work needs to be done.

Men and women are equally welcome at this table because the conversation about women’s leadership, volunteering, domestic violence prevention, and the future we are building together belongs to every leader who believes in it.
