About Jarrod Wheatley
Jarrod Wheatley OAM is a social entrepreneur and youth advocate recognised for transforming out‑of‑home care and relational‑care systems in Australia. As Chair of the Centre for Relational Care and Founder & CEO of Professional Individualised Care (PIC), Jarrod has pioneered a relationship‑based model of out‑of‑home care that places one child with a Professional Therapeutic Carer to respond to complex trauma and attachment needs. His work continues to influence how we design trauma‑informed, person‑centred care for children and young people across the sector.
In recognition of his leadership, Jarrod was named 2019 NSW Young Australian of the Year for founding two innovative not‑for‑profit organisations – including PIC and Street Art Murals Australia – and for championing relational care, social‑justice reform, and youth‑led social enterprise.
