About His Excellency The Honourable Christopher John Dawson AC APM
His Excellency serves as the 34th Governor of Western Australia, a role he assumed on 15 July 2022. A former Commissioner of the Western Australia Police Force from 2017 to 2022, he played a key role in managing the state’s COVID-19 response as State Emergency Coordinator and Vaccine Commander. In 2023, he was awarded the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) for his contributions to public administration, law enforcement, reconciliation, and governance.
