We are thrilled to announce that Ashley McCarthy-Griffiths a true visionary in the Australian resources sector will be joining us as a featured speaker for our upcoming QLD International Women’s Day – Parliamentary Breakfast Event 2026.

This special event will highlight women whose leadership, caregiving and community building have shaped Queensland’s story, both in public and behind the scenes.
A leader redefining resources
Ashley is a distinguished mechanical engineer and business leader who serves as Principal Business Improvement at Stanmore Resources. Her career shows what is possible when strong technical expertise combines with clear strategic vision.
In 2025, she received both the Exceptional Young Woman in Queensland Resources and the national Exceptional Young Woman in Australian Resources awards, recognising her transformative impact on the sector. Earlier in her career, she worked as a technology consultant at Deloitte and became the first female Maintenance Supervisor in five years at BHP’s Caval Ridge Mine, helping to open doors for other women in mining.
Ashley has led automation and artificial intelligence initiatives worth more than $50 million. As a result, she has delivered major gains in efficiency while also supporting safer and more sustainable operations over the long term.
Advocacy beyond the mine site
What truly sets Ashley apart is her determination to ensure she is not the only woman in the room. As President of Power of Engineering, she has helped inspire nearly 15,000 students, many from regional and diverse backgrounds, to consider careers in STEM.
In addition, she serves as a director for the National Parks Association of Queensland, reflecting her commitment to community and the environment. A graduate of Queensland University of Technology, she is widely known as a trailblazer who works to break down barriers for women in engineering and mining. She continues to champion inclusive workplaces where people of all backgrounds can contribute and lead.
