Speaker Announcement: Jean McRuvie

We are delighted to announce Jean McRuvie as a keynote speaker for our upcoming QLD International Women’s Day – Parliamentary Breakfast Event 2026.

Jean embodies the spirit of quiet, impactful leadership that this breakfast aims to celebrate. She is a powerful voice for the rights, needs, and interests of older people across the state, working tirelessly to combat ageism and foster age-friendly policies.

A Career Defined by Care and Governance

Jean’s professional journey is one of immense influence and breadth. Having spent two decades in senior leadership roles—as CEO, General Manager, and Managing Director—across crucial sectors like health, welfare, and regional development, she brings an unparalleled understanding of community and corporate dynamics. Her experience even includes serving as an elected local government councillor, demonstrating her deep commitment to public service.

As Chair of COTA Queensland, Jean expertly guides the organisation’s mission to ensure a bright future for people as they age. Her expertise in organisational governance, project design, and working with complex government and community stakeholders makes her perspective invaluable.

Her insights will undoubtedly enrich our conversation about how we value, support, and legislate for all women across their lifespan.
