Speaker Announcement: Sheree Schonian

We are thrilled to announce that Sheree Schonian, a Lived Experience Expert and domestic violence survivor advocate based in the Greater Perth Area, will be speaking at the upcoming National Child & Family Safety Leadership Summit 2026. As the founder of “I am Sheree,” her platform dedicated to raising awareness about family violence through education, storytelling, and support resources like safety plans, Sheree brings invaluable insights to our national conversation on child and family safety.

Sheree’s Expertise and Impact

Sheree serves as a keynote speaker, policy developer, and counsellor, drawing from her 16-year experience surviving coercive control and abuse that began at age 16. She has contributed to key initiatives such as workshops, advocacy programmes like Ruah’s My Story My Time, and conferences focused on ending coercive control. Her efforts also include co-authoring the book Love, Bruises and Bullsh!t featuring survivor stories, alongside participation in awareness campaigns that empower others. Organisations praise her as a compelling presenter and changemaker who exemplifies thriving after abuse.

Why Sheree’s Voice Matters at the Summit

Sheree’s work aligns perfectly with the Summit’s focus on domestic violence, coercive control, and building safer communities. Her lived experience and advocacy will enrich our discussions on prevention, recovery, and collaboration across systems.
