As Founder, Director, and Lead Counsellor at Darwin Youth Services, Sarah brings invaluable expertise in youth support, counselling, and prevention programmes tailored to Northern Territory communities.

Sarah Austin’s Expertise
Sarah specialises in evidence-based work. For example, she tackles domestic and family violence (DFSV). She also addresses alcohol and other drugs (AOD) misuse. Plus, she covers mental health and healthy relationships.
Local communities co-design her programmes. These include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups. Thus, they ensure real impact.
Before, Sarah counselled youth and families. She worked at Saltbush Social Enterprises. She also served at Port Stephens Family Support Service. Today, she uses person-centred methods. These suit young people in schools and remote areas.
Her leadership stands out. Darwin Youth Services won an award. Specifically, it earned Excellence in Business: Corporate Social Responsibility. This came from the 2025 NT Chamber of Commerce Greater Darwin Business Awards.
