About Alison Churchill

Alison Churchill is the long‑standing Chief Executive Officer of the Community Restorative Centre (CRC) in New South Wales, a leading non‑government organisation that supports people affected by the criminal justice system and works to reduce incarceration and reoffending. With over 35 years of experience as a social worker and counsellor, Alison has focused on supporting criminalised populations and survivors of violence in both the UK and Australia. She has led the CRC since 1998, growing it from a small service into a multi‑disciplinary organisation delivering evidence‑based programs, advocacy, and policy work.

As CEO, Alison has expanded the organisation’s staff base, strengthened partnerships with government and community stakeholders, and fostered a culture that improves service delivery for people with lived experience of incarceration and their families. Her contribution to justice‑system reform and support for vulnerable people has been formally recognised with appointments such as Member of the Order of Australia (AM), underscoring her significant impact on community safety and social justice.
