Her inspiring work as the CEO of the Southern Aboriginal Corporation (SAC) has transformed regional communities by securing critical funding, delivering essential services, and preserving Aboriginal culture. Asha’s visionary leadership has driven sustainable improvements in health, education, and economic outcomes for marginalized communities, making her an ideal voice for International Women’s Day.

Recognised both nationally and internationally, Asha Bhat OAM was honored with the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2022 for her outstanding contributions to Indigenous affairs and social justice. Her accolades continue to grow, including recent awards such as the 2024 Women in Technology WA (WiTWA) Tech+ Award for Outstanding Regional Role Model, the India Australia Business & Community Award for Community Services Excellence, and the 2024 AusMumpreneur Award in the Non-Profit Category. Asha has also been celebrated as the Winner of the Women Changing the World Award for Leader of the Year and received the WA Award for Excellence in Women’s Leadership by Women & Leadership Australia. Her participation in international forums like the Global Ambassadors Program by Vital Voices USA further underscores her commitment to bridging policy and community.
