When a marriage breaks down, the emotional toll is immense – from relationship issues to financial struggles, and sometimes, involvement with family courts. It’s vital that we shield them from adult concerns, as they can unknowingly internalise conflicts, leading to what’s known as psychological splitting – where one parent is seen as ‘good’ and the other as ‘bad’.
