National Care and Support Sector Conference

Welcome to the National Care and Support Sector Conference: Leading the Conversation on Australia’s Care Economy

As we gear up for the National Care and Support Sector Conference, we’re excited to launch this blog as a platform for insights, updates, and discussions on the care and support economy in Australia. This conference is not just an event; it’s the start of a significant, ongoing conversation about the future of care across five vital sectors: Aged Care, Early Childhood Education and Care, Disability Support, Mental Health, and Veterans’ Care.

The care and support economy plays a crucial role in the lives of millions of Australians, from children and families to older adults and veterans. Each sector is undergoing extensive reform, and while they address unique needs, they also share common challenges and opportunities. This conference is designed to bring these sectors together to learn from each other, build partnerships, and collaborate toward a shared vision of sustainable, high-quality care that benefits all.

Our Goal: Fostering Cross-Sector Collaboration

With reform accelerating across the care landscape, now is the time to bring leaders and practitioners together to address critical issues and explore collaborative solutions. The National Care and Support Sector Conference is an opportunity to:

  • Connect Sectors: By bringing together key stakeholders, we can foster understanding and share best practices across sectors to create a more cohesive care system.
  • Discuss Core Themes: Our conference will focus on five themes—Care Models, Funding and Governance, Workforce and Regulation, Quality and Safeguarding, and Technology and Digital Transformation. These areas are pivotal in shaping how care services are delivered and how they evolve to meet future needs.
  • Inform Policy: While not a formal government feedback process, this conference will facilitate a sector-led, public policy paper to the Care and Support Economy. This submission will consolidate insights from across the sectors, ensuring the collective voice of the care community is heard.

A Transformative Vision for the Care Economy

The future of care in Australia hinges on a unified approach that enables high-quality service, equitable funding, and robust workforce support across all care sectors. By working together, we can build a comprehensive framework that supports every individual in need of care, as well as the dedicated professionals providing it.

Stay tuned to this blog for updates on the conference, key speaker highlights, and thought leadership pieces on sector challenges and innovations. We look forward to sharing this journey with you, as we work together to create a sustainable, inclusive care and support economy for all Australians.
